Services

Consultation

The first 2-4 meetings will consist of a consultation where we will work together to clarify your hopes and concerns regarding psychotherapy.  During the consultation, I will conduct an evaluation of your needs as well as begin gathering background information to create a treatment plan that will best meet your individual needs. The consultation process is also an opportunity to see if you and I would work well together. If either of us feels that you may be better served elsewhere, I will do my best to assist you in finding appropriate referrals.

Individual Psychotherapy

I offer both short-term and long-term individual psychotherapy.  During the initial part of our work together we will work towards establishing your therapy goals and begin determining what treatment modality will best meet these goals.  As you progress in psychotherapy your goals and expectations may shift; therefore, I encourage an open dialogue between myself and my clients where you can feel free to share your opinions, experiences, and preferences with me.  I believe that this collaborative aspect of therapy is very important so I will regularly check in with you to ensure that our work together continues to feels like it is meeting your needs.

Confidentiality

According to state statutes, information exchanged during the course of psychotherapy is privileged communication and subject to privacy. Therefore, I will not acknowledge to anyone (including family members and medical providers) that you are my client unless I have your written permission to do so.  There are some exceptions to this, such as danger to yourself or others, where I am mandated by my legal and ethical duty as a psychologist to breach confidentiality.
